As one of the few physicians in the country offering all three thyroid ablation modalities—RFA, MWA, and nPULSE—Dr. Falahati provides personalized, evidence-based treatment options tailored to each patient’s thyroid anatomy, nodule characteristics, and clinical needs. His interventional thyroid practice attracts patients from across Utah and beyond seeking non-surgical alternatives for thyroid nodule treatment.
Dr. Falahati earned his medical degree from the University of Vienna Medical School in Vienna, Austria, graduating in 1994. He subsequently relocated to the United States, where he completed his internship at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, followed by his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He completed fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Since completing his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Falahati has received numerous national and international awards for his research and clinical innovation. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks and has delivered numerous lectures and media interviews on thyroid disease, thyroid nodules, osteoporosis, diabetes, and prediabetes.
Before founding Utah Endocrinology Associates, Dr. Falahati served as chairman of the Institutional Review Board overseeing clinical research and as medical director of the Diabetes Center at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He currently serves as a chapter president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and is the founder and director of Utah Endocrinology Associates, the Utah Osteoporosis Foundation, and Salt Lake City RFA Clinic.
